Wooden AR-15 Handguard – A1 Style

Description

This handguard is modeled after the original triangular handguard used on the M16A1 rifle.

Please note one difference between our wooden handguards and the original A1 handguard: A typical A1 handguard is split vertically into a left and right half, while our wooden handguard is split horizontally into an upper and lower half.  This upgraded design eliminates the issue with the “teeth” created by splitting the vent holes down the center, which were a common breakage point on the original A1 handguard.

This handguard is compatible with any AR-15 that accepts a two-piece handguard using a standard delta ring to retain the handguard at the rear, and a triangular or round endcap attached to the gas block to retain that handguard at the front.  Note that you must be sure to select the correct length and endcap style to ensure compatibility.

Available in 3 lengths: Carbine, Mid, and Rifle.  If you do not know what length gas system your rifle has, measure the distance between the delta ring and the handguard endcap:
Rifle Length = 12-1/2 Inches (approx.)
Mid Length = 9 Inches (approx.)
Carbine Length = 7 Inches (approx.)

All 3 lengths are available for either a triangular or round endcap.  In most cases, rifle-length and mid-length rifles come with a triangular endcap, and carbine-length rifles come with a round endcap.  There may be exceptions, however, so please check your endcap style before ordering.

A triangular endcap will look like this:

A round endcap may have 2 slots taken out of it, giving a “T” shape, which looks like this:

Our handguards will work with both styles of round endcap.

All parts are CNC machined from 100% solid hardwood, hand sanded, and triple-coated with a quality urethane finish, with the exception of black walnut products, which are finished with tung oil.
