Wooden AR-15 Handguard – Oval Profile

Description

This handguard is similar in design to the M16A2 handguard, but instead of a circular profile, it has an oval profile that is slightly taller than it is wide, and which tapers slightly toward the front.

The vent holes on this handguard are circular, like those on an A2 handguard.

Please note that unlike a typical polymer A2 handguard, which uses two identical pieces, our design is not symmetrical, but instead consists of an upper and lower half that are not reversible.  The primary reason for this design choice is that it allows us to make a front catch that fully engages with a triangular handguard endcap, and eliminates the need for extra cuts that could make the front catch a weak point on a wooden handguard.

This handguard is compatible with any AR-15 that accepts a two-piece handguard using a standard delta ring to retain the handguard at the rear, and a triangular or round endcap attached to the gas block to retain that handguard at the front.  Note that you must be sure to select the correct length and endcap style to ensure compatibility.

Available in 3 lengths: Carbine, Mid, and Rifle.  If you do not know what length gas system your rifle has, measure the distance between the delta ring and the handguard endcap:
Rifle Length = 12-1/2 Inches (approx.)
Mid Length = 9 Inches (approx.)
Carbine Length = 7 Inches (approx.)

All 3 lengths are available for either a triangular or round endcap.  In most cases, rifle-length and mid-length rifles come with a triangular endcap, and carbine-length rifles come with a round endcap.  There may be exceptions, however, so please check your endcap style before ordering.

Our handguards will work with both styles of round endcap.

All parts are CNC machined from 100% solid hardwood, hand sanded, and triple-coated with a quality urethane finish, with the exception of black walnut products, which are finished with tung oil.
